Our People

Behind the scenes of Good Natured Education is passionate Early Childhood Nature-based Educator, Morgan Clode.

Morgan originates from the deep south of New Zealand, Invercargill but has adopted Queenstown as her home for the past 10 years. Morgan has over 10 years experience in the education industry, Forest School training in the UK, and on-field expertise leading a unique to NZ "Farm School" program for Gems Educational Childcare.

With a deep desire to increase opportunities for tamariki to engage in nature-based education, Morgan got to work to develop Good Natured Education.

Morgan shares her knowledge, skills and passion with other like-minded educators with the vision to "ignite love, connection and appreciation for nature".

Our Purpose

With our world becoming so heavily saturated in technology, our future generations are spending less time outdoors and some are becoming "nature deficit".

To help to combat this it is our belief that all kiwi kids should have access to rich, meaningful and regular experiences in nature as part of their early learning journey.

Morgan developed a unique series of interconnecting workshops aimed to provide educators with the skills, confidence and tools to establish and operate their own nature-based program for tamariki or enhance existing programs.

Our Actions

Good Natured Education is a professional learning and development service for nature-based educators of New Zealand.

Through everything we do; our unique workshop series, personalised mentoring & support, articles on the blog, and our social media communities, we strive to create a connected culture where we all share and learn from each other.

Whether you are an experienced nature-based educator or just starting out on your journey in using nature to love, connect and appreciate nature, Good Natured Education can help.

How it works

The Good Natured Education workshop series is a 5 step flexible learning system with content designed to interconnect and weave.

Starting with the "Know Why, Know How" Foundation workshop focusing on connecting philosophical and pedagogical knowledge to create strong foundations.

Next are the Four Key Elements workshops, which are filled with practical hands-on experiences,  reflective discussions, and group tasks focusing on what we believe to be the key elements to a successful & rich nature-based program.

All workshops are run outdoors, in the wild, as we would expect of tamariki and we are fully mobile, so can come your unique setting on request.

Complete the 5 workshops in the series and become a proud owner of the Good Natured Accreditation.

Feel a greater sense of kaitiaki knowing that we share a portion of our profits to The Wakatipu Reforestation Trust, helping the native reforestation projects in the Wakatipu community.
